Bangur Museum 
 Sri Bangur Government Museum, Pali as we see it in the majestic building, located near old bus stand. The foundation of the museum building was laid on 26th April, 1982 and the museum was formally thrown open to the public on July 19th, 1991.

                                       

Nature of Collection : Highlighting Sculpture, Epigraphic, Speciman of minerals, Coins of historical interest, Miniature Painting, Arms and Armour, Wooden handicraft and Tribal Life also exhibited.

Exhibition Section :

1. Pre-Historic Section : Wall Showcase No.2 exhibiting stone tools belonging to the Palaeolithic period. Blade, Flake, Hand axe and Scrapper type tools are in display.

 2. Archaeological Section : Archaeological Section is the most important section. The stone and metal images of Brahamanical and Jain deities collected from Balwana, Bali, Nadol, Hemawas, Nimaj and Sewari of district Pali. Objects also collected from Bhinmal, Savidar and Sayla of district Jalore.

These sculptures range in date from the 6th century A.D. down to 17th-18th century A.D. Inscription and Archaeological pieces are also in collection.

    1. VISHNU :  preserver of the Universe, standing, ornamented with Kirita Crown; earrings, necklace.

    3. GANESHA : Lord of wisdom, seated.

    6. SARASWATI : Goddess of learning, seated on full-blown lotus, Four handed, onamented.

    9. CHANDRA PRABHU : Jain tirthankar, seated in meditation(Padamasana-pose), curls on forehead, Moon symbol carved on pedestal.

    10. ARCHITECTURAL PIECES : Parts of Jain temple, exquisite carving.

    11. GODDESS KALI : Standing, Goddess with 10 heads and 54 hands, her main face with tongue out; holding weapons of different kinds.

3. Numismatics and Epigraphic (Copper-plate) Section : Rich collection of coins belong to Alauddin Khilji, Feroz Tughlaq, Mubarak Shah and later Mughal rulers. Copper plates are also in display. 12th-13th century A.D.

4. Painting Section : The contribution of Rajasthan in the realm of Indian Paintings need no emphasis. Miniature paintings of former Jodhpur state's rulers are in display- Jodhpur school.

5. Arms and Armour Section : Weapons in this museum are display in showcase. These include Sword, Shield, Tabar(Axe), Gun and Pistol. As firearm Cannons are also displayed.

                                           

6. Handicraft and Exhibit of Tribal Life : Highlighting regional wooden handicraft. Ornaments, Musical instruments and costume of Garasiya tribe also in display.

Museum and Educational Activities :

A major function of museum is education. To study real objects belonging to different era, makes history come alive. Through such objects we can study the past. So we invite the students and arrange educational activities like "Gallery Talk", "Question Answer Progamme" etc. "Shramdan Camps" also organised in the museum campus.
